XhdSkip made a different horn cover for his ride; looked like the bottom of a clothes iron; but it filled in the space quite nicely.
I once had my chromed Stebel mounted in the place of the OEM horn cover; it worked well but it was heavy; and I worried about it falling off and trashing the front fender:
I want to make a different horn cover as well; still looking for a large and appropriately shaped belt buckle theme. You can get large western type (and other belt buckles that can exceed 5x4" or more. I've got one inserted on the back of my pillion backrest:
Actually on the later ones they seem to be OK. I bought a supposedly louder one, fitted it and found it sounded wimpish. The standard one is fine. Bike was registered in late 09.
Yes it would be easy enough to move the horn elsewhere but there's other ugly stuff that the chrome thing conceals. A plain chrome of stanlesss plate that covered the gap and curved around the side of the fork legs would be much better. The R3T lools a bit like this under the headlight.
