Hi there

I have a system 3 DATATOOL alarm fitted to my 04 rocket 3, when I aim the transmitter to the bike there is no response from the alarm, I have checked the batteries in the transmitters and they are fine.

Can anyone advise me what the problem might be? :D

I have the same alarm system, and I have to point the transmitter very close to the receiver or it will not pick up.

Did the previous owner tell you where the receiver on your bike is located?

As for photos, when you hit the 'Post Reply' button, at the bottom of the page that loads, you will see a box which says 'Browse' - click that, locate the photo you want to post from your own files & open it, then it will appear in your post when you hit 'submit'.

Previous owner wanted to sell the bike quickly as he was moving to Thailand with his new bride?!?!?!?! so did not get a chance to talk much about the bike..... :?

thought it happened the other way around...

System 3s need their batts (in the fob) replaced more often than that the sysem 4s. Both of the alarm are a pointless item - once installed and you got the proof of installation, rip the things out and dont bother. If a thief wants the bike, he/she/they are going to get it - the alarm wont do a thing to stop em. My system 4 went off in the early hours of the morning and wouldnt stop for 5 hours (I was nearly in tears at the end), and the system 3 was so sensitive, even if i tapped the satnav when the alarm was on, the thing shrieked like scalded cat. Ripped em both out of both bikes and now im quite happy 8)

If you do want the alarm, try changing the fob batt. Just cos the light lights doesnt mean there is enough juice in it. Change the batt and see how it goes.
