I just got the 2020 GT and the display shows me a 6500 rpm redline. In the menu I can adjust it for the “shift light” to 6500 rpm. The bike has 2100 miles on it and in the user manual it shows 7000 rpm is the upper setting. Is there something I’m missing?

Well glad you started with the manual.
Try Page 52 (Instruments) wherein you can reset the "engine speed threshold (RPM) for the gear shifter indicator" through the display setup. The previous owner may have set his/her own User Defined value and here is where you can reset it. If that doesn't do it, not sure what else to tell you.

Yes sir that’s the exact menu item I get but 6500 is as high as it allows me to set it. Might be something his dealer didn’t unlock at his first service?

So does this mean, even though TuneECU shows 7k redline, it won't mirror on the display? Also does this mean I can't really increase the redline to 7k or 7.5k?

Because my adaptations on the bike won't go past 6.5k, but will in tuneECU

What does your riding show you? The stock map makes peak power b4 6500, but the shift light on my bikes are just alerts for me so I don't have to stare at my tach, the motor will rev past redline. Is not a hard limiter, just a rider alert.

I haven't hit it, but see it on the screen. Read that at new, they limit the rev limit to 6.5k and are supposed to unlock it after it's first service. Without that, tuning it won't really allow it to go past 6.5k. Reason I'm curious. I can lower the redline in the bikes menu, but can't get it past 6.5

I've only got around 450 miles on mine also, so tell the truth i don't know either only that my last bikes didn't stop accelerating past the shift lights.
