I just received a phone call from a very lovely lady at the Hub and I am confirmed for a room. I am very surprised that I was able to get one. She had one room left if I wanted to crash the RAT event but I believe it would be right to be riding a Triumph to do so.
I'd ride my old '67 but that thing just wears me out these days.
Yes we did meet there. You had a friend riding a Star as I recall it and you were on to another destination. What route are you taking? I mapped out two, one through Nebraska and then south through Kansas City, into Missouri and to Marble Falls. The second drops south in to Denver, then east through Kansas into Kansas City.
You know but I didn't ask. I told her I was with the RAA group and assumed I'd get the same rate as the others. This has been the case with other Rocket events I've attended. I'll give today. What rate should I be getting for a room with two beds?

Now do I ever feel dopey. I bought it in 1983 with holed piston for $350. I rebuilt in on my back porch in Guantanamo Bay Cuba and then again back in 95. I just put a new Amal concentric carb on and and the correct exhaust. It came with a monoblock but 1967 was a transition year to the concentric. I've had a Bonnie/Trohpy exhaust (low pipes) on it since about 1990. This is a better view of the engine and pipes. It is a TR6C model with the flip up foot pegs and stiffer suspension for off road.
I still have to install the mufflers.
The engine on the shelf in the other pic is for my 1958 TR6 flat tracker. It is built to the B range engine performance specs with a shaved crank, Portland cams and a Lucas "Racing" magneto (very rare). In the corner of the shop is a 1947 Speed Twin and a 1957 TR6 awaiting restoration.

Unfortunately it will continue as the event gets closer , people are so busy these days and it's difficult to juggle commitments to work ,family and leisure, our 2014 RDU had over 30 planning on attending and ended up with 12 or so, the long distances in OZ are a problem with Captains from all over the Country wishing to attend, but it was a great event and friendships made and faces to names established , for us Aussies it is interesting reading your group planning and the far reaching areas you Captains are travelling from,
sort of makes me envious but in a well whishing manner
