A limited edition T'Bird with the factory-installed 1700c "kit" was announced at the recent Milano show, as an add'l model. It's featured in the last issue of the French bi-monthly Moto-Revue. Price premium over the std model is around 15%, which comes darn close to the cost of the kit + dealer manpower:confused:.

It'll have specific colors. Availability?: April or May 2010.

Awsome, they're making it difficult to control myself from getting another bike. I fell in love with the way they feel just by sitting on one, after riding it I was done/sold/suckered. Too bad money is the only thing holding me back (minor problem) :p.

Know the feeling:rolleyes:. Can't help wondering why Triumph did NOT launch it right away with the 1700 cc motor, though:confused:. Said motor is reported to be worth 97 HP, i.e. eleven more than the current 1600 cc version. And that is still within stringent EUR3 emission and noise regulations, with full warranty coverage and without the need for any backyard tuning experiment.

100 ponies are easily within reach, as a US monthly (have forgotten which one, sorry) suggested 2 or 3 months ago. Just add a pair of TOR cans and the "free-flow" air sponge...

NOT much less. IN CHF (about equal to the US$) list prices are:

1600cc T'Bird= 20'000
1700cc " " = 23'000 (estimated form the annoucement in €)
2010 Rocket Roadster= 24'500 (about 3'000 CHEAPER than the 2009 model !!!)
2009 Rocket Touring= 28'500

Jamie and hw much less $$$$ then a R3 ? I know after a R3 aint everything just smaller:D

Ditto. I rode a factory demo last Sunday at Eurocycle in Ft Worth. Nice bike. Shifted well but am spoiled to the R3's power. I'll spend any extra cash in head porting the R3 instead.
