  1. back after 3 1/2 yrs!

I'm in the Atlanta area Skip. Guess I should update my profile.
  2. back after 3 1/2 yrs!

I haven't been on the rocket forum for a long time....got caught up in life and riding my wife around on a BMW LT. Still have and love my rocket so I thought I'd come back and see what's been happening. When I hit my "bookmark" it said the web address had been changed. The one that I had...
  3. Rifle Windscreens for Rocket 3

I ended up getting the ClearView.....large one with the operable vent in the middle and tinted. If big is what you want, it's a good one. I can now wear my progressive glasses that I couldn't wear with the Triumph windscreen. It stopped all buffetting. They did an excellent job and the...
  4. Explain this, then.

Owl, The base idle screw is at the front of the throttle bodies with a round wheel on the front of the rod. It has a stop and a set screw against it that can be adjusted. I had your exact problem with my bike. 6 weeks of farting around between my mechanic and Triumph and they FINALLY...
  5. motor running bad at higher revs ?FIXED NOW!LOOSE COIL WIRE!

I've been experiencing a "similar" problem. It's been at the dealer's for most of four weeks now. They've been back and forth with the factory and have finally "decided"....it's a Throttle Positioning Sensor". Sounds like a coil problem to me. Oh well, when they FINALLY get one in, we'll...
  6. Looking for parts

Any of you with aftermarket pipes looking to sell your old silencer brackets and chrome covers? I have the silencers but have misplaced all the brakets and covers to install them. I took them off to put on the Jardines....I'm going back to quiet. Thanks!
  7. Broken Connection in Ignition Switch

My switch went at about 10K miles...I now have 21K on it. They did it under waranty and it was "their" idea to replace tank and seat locks so I'd have only one key to operate everything. This was before my ignition relocate. Not sure what they would have done in that case.
  8. PCIII savy?

I want to "re-load" a PCIII tune that I have on my computer. Bike has run great for a year and a half and recently I'm running so rich my gas mileage has gone from 33mpg to 25mpg and it's running rough. I'm thinking I've lost my tune for some reason. I need someone who's loaded a PCIII map...
  9. Adjusting Valve Clearances

Checked once. Told there was no need for adjustment.
  10. You might think coil failure!

Bigern, What was the symtom / reaction when the middle cyl gave you problems? I'm having a problem with the motor cutting out between 2100 & 2300 rpm constant speed.....any gear. Ok below that rpm, ok above that rpm, ok going thru that rpm. It feels / sounds like an electrical problem...
  11. Rocket III vs. Suzuki M109R

I own both bikes. A 2 1/2 yr old '05 Rocket (Jars, 3 k&n's, PCIII) and a 1 1/2 yr old stock 109. Totally different bikes. I like the looks of the 109 better (pers preference)...I like the uniqueness of the Rocket more. For hopping around town on the short runs, I like the 109. ANYTHING...
  12. Windsield relocation

I bought a tripple windshield bag from Honda and mounted it. In the winter w/ large gloves on, it was a little tough getting to the ignition. I did the ignition re-locate and it's great now.
  13. New Horn

Finished! Found out the single wire is the button side. Now I've got a "horny" bike!
  14. New Horn

Stebel says to mount it with the openings backward so water won't be forced up into it. While on the subject, I'm putting mine on tonight. The old horn had one connector with a double wire and one connector with a single wire. Which one goes to #85 and which one to #86 on the relay? My...
  15. New Horn

Stebel also sells one in chrome for you guys that want to mount it outside and add some bling. I believe it's $10 more. BTW....any of you that have already wired it......the instructions talk about some Triumphs being wired backwards where you have a "positive ground". Not sure what that...
  16. Clutch lever hassle

You guys that keep your Rocket outside need to have them taken away from you. I'd make my wife sleep outside and put the Rocket in my bedroom before I'd leave it outside. You should be charged with cruelty to motorcycles!!!!!! Shame...Shame!!!!
  17. Rivco Risers/Classic Handlebars - Cable Lengths

RoadVenture, Many of us have changed out the stock risers for the Rivco and would probably be happy to sell you the stock parts. Are you "wanting" to go back to the stock risers?
  18. ignition relocate thanks!

Thanks Yogi for your help. The ignition relocation looks great and while I was in there, I ran the wiring for a new horn. I've been stuck at home with a back injury. I can't be on my feet for very long at a time so it's been a good time to catch up on some bike chores. I also have the larger...
  19. quick help on ignition

Thanks Templar! I appreciate the quick reply!
  20. quick help on ignition

It's about 3pm eastern std time. I'm working on Yogi's ignition relocate. I need someone that has done it to reply within the hour. If it's longer than an hour, delete, it'll be too late. The bracket that the new ignition bolts too also has wiring harnesses attached to it. Do you leave...
