How heavy are a pair of forks?

Hi. I need to send a pair of complete front forks minus the top and bottom yolks via courier. Does anyone know what their combined weight is?

A new starting issue on me

Yup. Load tested and all good. Symptoms have changed ??? Now, when I turn the key all is good, the dash loads up. Then when I pull the clutch in, the bike starts straight up without touching the starter button! I am thinking it is more likely the right hand switch gear at fault as it all...

A new starting issue on me

Hadn't ridden the bike in a while. Charged the battery. At first when I turned the key the lights came on but the dash was dead. Flicked the kill switch repeatedly and the dash started to work. Pulled in the clutch lever and the dash reset with a loud click from the clutch switch. Removed the...

Will not turn over, help needed please

Hi all! OK Here is a goodun. I used to have the old cold start issue. I have installed the secondary relay to the starter relay and it improved the spin of the starter motor, consequently the bike started alot easier right down to 0 degrees. I have installed the headlight relays and...

    Instruments Dead.....Bike runs fine...What gives?

Just a thought I have had the same problem with just the tacho and it turned out to be the multi pin connecter block from the clocks. Just one of the tiny pins in the block had snapped off inside the female terminal. If the inside of the connecter block has a green tinge to it, it is a fair...

I got the best bike in the World

But don't we all. Wanted one since it first came out and worked hard to get it. I am an active member of many forums regarding "the bike" and various other themes. Always looking for ideas on improving perfection. I am a darksider and have been for about 3 years. Love it and will never change...

    Battery again

I had a similar problem after heavy rain. Engine management light and oil light on with out the ignition key. I have even had the analogue clock hands spinning backwards like a windmill. I have even had this idiot light problem when riding in torrential rain. It is water getting where it...

I've looked but I can't find - popping under the saddle!

My bike used to spit back through the intakes once in a while but it was more of a bang and you could feel it through your spine then white smoke drifted up from under the saddle. Scary the first couple of times but entertaining now. Saying that, it has not done it since I swapped the rotten...

    Front fork stanchion repair

Has anyone ever taken the bottom end off of a Rocket stanchion? How are they fitted? Can they be removed?

    Starting problems when its cold...

I have gone down the bigger battery route and it has also made no difference. I have a new theory. It sounds like the starter motor is sluggish on start up. Has anyone had the starter motor off and checked for pinched bearings when it is cold? If I had a spare starter I would place it outside in...

    Clutch slip

I was quoted about £240 before vat and that was just for the friction plates and steel plates between. The springs and bolts are extra. Add on a lube change, casing gasket, coolant change, 'O' rings for the water pump and chromed feed tube on the front of the engine, finally the washers...

    R3T windscreen buffeting

Each and every time I had use of the Touring with screen I found it to be noisey and a bit of a barn door for anything over 90 mph. It handled well enough but felt gutless compared with the original R3.

    R3 Life Span

If it looks and feels good leave it be. Just keep a check on it regularly. I asked for oil at a Triumph dealer and got an altogether different brand for the previous oil. Dealers probably buy in equivalent oils cheaper and charge full rate or close to it. As long as the ratings are the same I...

    R3 Life Span

According to the Triumph workshop manual the oil should be changed after 500 miles, then 10000, then 20000 and so on.

    R3 Life Span

I keep a check on the oil and it still looked pretty good. If the clutch had lasted a while longer I would have probably left the oil till the 30000 mile waypoint. The clutch was well worn doing all sorts of crazy riding. The last few burn outs probably saw to the end of it, especially due to...

    R3 Life Span

27000 miles and I have just had to fit new clutch plates and springs. Replaced the actuator shaft even though it was not too badly worn. All other components were in good shape. Just had its' third oil change from new. It is just about 2 and a half years old. 8)
