Greetings all, I realise I’ve not much chance, but does anyone have have a Oil temp gauge that replaces the cap/dipstick on a R111 Classic for sale?

Help me find a good bagger setup for a 2014 roaster.

Why not just go to a Breakers yard and cherry pick a topbox of the size and proportions you require off an HD dresser? You’ll need to build a couple of mounts to bolt the rack to, and Kuryakyn make excellent foot boards for the passenger.

    183.48mph, and it's getting faster...

If you’d like really think outside the box, how about fitting the engine into one of those Morgan 3 wheeler replicas! That’d give the bugger a bit of poke!

    Unusual Bikes seen at Shows.

Not talking extra exotic, but special from our past or never seen before. Where I live, Lowestoft on the east coast of England. A mate who’s a member of my local MCC, runs a small intimate bike show outside his shop in the High Street. Usual collection of Japanese, American, British road bikes...

Found a solution to my big ugly backrest

Just as a side thought. I’m on my second R111 Classic and my other she suffers from Scoliosis in the lower spine. So to adapt it, so she can still tag along, I did a couple of subtle changes to her perch. I fitted a 12” wide HD back pad to the Sissy bar and a set of Kuryakyn foot boards in stead...

    2500 front end on 2300

I know there’s brackets available to change to Radial brakes, but fitting these forks must help with handling. I am surprised that your not going with the R3 front wheel as well, being lighter that would certainly help with the unsprung weight and help the forks work better.

I have seen a couple of Classics for sale at Just Rockets here in England, might be easier for you to get one. Carl who runs the place knows his stuff as well.

Greetings from the UK mate. As atomsplitter said, the Touring and Roadster two different bikes, but with one common denominator the engine. But if I may put my penny’s worth in, I’d opt for the Roadster. With the right choice of accessories fitted, the Classic Roadster is as good as a Touring...

Blistered paint on final drive casing

When it comes to removing and replacing the bevel box, believe me it ain’t hard. I’m no professional mechanic, but I even did it with no problem! Twice actually, firstly to paint the 07 R111 and recently to give the splines a grease on my 2009 Classic. A tip, when removing the box, try to pull...

Blistered paint on final drive casing

The paint on the bevel box on my 2007 R111 did the same, I had to disconnect it from the swinging arm and rub it down properly. The alloy was all furred up where it’d come off, so I had to do at least a half decent job. But after undercoating it, I sprayed it black satin to match the frame.

Other Triumph bikes you currently own

My first Hinkley was a 900 Trident, that I brought in Brisbane. Didn’t stay standard for long, wheels, sprocket, brakes, suspension, exhaust and carbs.

I’ve a 2009 R111 Classic, but my bike for blatting around town or for shortish rides. I’ve a 1972 OIF BSA A65 Thunderbolt, not particularly fast, but fun for having fun on Suffolks country roads.

    Lithium battery

Sorry to high jack this Lithium thread, I’m in the UK and I wondered if any of the experts on here, have any insight into these batteries. Sodium-Ion batteries. I’m all for technology innovation, especially if it stops holes being dug in the ground.
