    Rear wheel rubbing sound

That might be helpful actually - only if easy for you to track down though Mate. Appreciate the offer. 👍

    Rear wheel rubbing sound

Good info 1obull. Yes defininatly hoping it’s just a bearing(s). Decided not to risk the 300km trip home and left with dealers workshop in Dandenong They’ve been servicing the bike for 7 years before we moved away. 5 weeks before they’ll get to look at though! Picking up a 2018 V-Strom 1000...

    Rear wheel rubbing sound

Hmm, not unless it’s part of routine service schedule that the dealers service department has been doing all these years. And I haven’t requested a check. Might be it…

    Rear wheel rubbing sound

I thought it was the rear brake binding slightly each rotation but new rotor proved that is not the case - rotor is not getting excessively hot either. Only noticeable at low speeds, and seems to be each wheel rotation, there is quite a loud rubbing sound (almost a squeak) coming from the rear...

    Transmission Conundrum R3T

Is there a way of confirming the clutch isn’t disengaging completely by over thightening the cable then operating the clutch. Would that have the effect of better disengagement and smoother gear changes If that Could work as a diagnostic test may be that could point more firmly at clutch /...

    Transmission Conundrum R3T

T Thanks Warp. Would this wear have been noticeable when the guy changed the (Triumph original part BTW) clutch pack do you reckon? Would have thought he’d have mentioned it if so. I’ve been getting the issues for some time before changing the clutch and was hoping it might fix it. To inspect...

    Transmission Conundrum R3T

Thanks Warp. Not sure where the lifter arm is but I guess not part of the clutch pack that was replaced recently. The guy that changed the clutch pack did say the old one was showing a lot of evidence of overheating. (Was a Triumph demo bike lent to journalists before I bought it. He recons they...

    Transmission Conundrum R3T

Thanks Jake - yes I have noticed if I heal it firmly it goes in quicker but still a very slight double clunk / grind-clunk. Did 250kms today some including some traffic and found that a blip of the throttle when changing 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 while clutch was pulled between gears did seem to help...

    Transmission Conundrum R3T

Thank Joesmoe. Sage advice. I do worry about the slight grind before clunk I referred to in my original post and wonder what part of the transmission is getting a shave each time. It feels so much smoother when clutchless (in my case anyway and only when I get it right) I guess I need to balance...

    Transmission Conundrum R3T

Probably closer to 2mm actually. Yeah not entirely comfortable with clutchless change - but it's brilliant when you get it just right - click and it's done.. It's getting it right all the time that's the tricky part.. Thanks Kevin - take care Mate

    Transmission Conundrum R3T

Hi Kevin - hows it going? - thanks for your quick response. Yes, the clutch cable broke about 18 months ago and I replaced & routed it myself following the path of the old one. Also the clutch has been replaced about 5,000kms ago. One of the reasons I took it in was to see what was happening...

    Transmission Conundrum R3T

Here's an interesting one and I'm having trouble working out what's going on - any thoughts, idea welcome. Yep, the R3's are prone to have clunky transmissions, however I've been noticing that sometimes get a slight kick back through the shifter between 1st & 2nd and 2nd & 3rd unless the up...

    Dyno tuning

Thanks Joesmore. Interesting, after the major service I just had the Bike is running very nicely but do feel that you suggest performance should have been quite a bit better after the PCv and Dyno in March. I am a bit concerned that the guy I took it to for the PCv install and free associated...

    R3T Dyno Tune

That's odd. @Kojack1970 replied - I got an email - but it has not appeared on this feed here. So, Kojack1970. Yes I was referring to the air filter box under the seat - I just changed out the standard filter for the K&N at the same time as I flashed the ECU with Power Tripps map. Interesting re...

    R3T Dyno Tune

Hi Guys - new to this thread and only a week or so on R3O. I have an R3T - had is for 5.5 years, pretty much from new (ex-demo). The first things I did for tuning after the warranty ran out was to flash the ECU with Power Tripps de-restriction tune and added a K&N filter - amazing difference...

    Knocking - R3T

Ha ha, nice one Kevin. Yep probably will ride till it clearly really is buggered. Get it rebuilt and go again. Just love the bloody thing! Err, oops, are the few big glasses of wine just consumed may be showing up a bit here?

    Knocking - R3T

Well that was interesting!! The senior tech at Peter Stevens - Paul - a guy I trust along with the rest of the senior team there - called me back after they had had the bike for only a few hours. A number of them including their guys with stacks of R3 experience had had a good listen and...
