    Good research. Its supposed to hold 18 liters/4.8 gallons. so at 32 mpg you should get about 20 miles more when the range reads zero, according to what should be left (4.8 minus 4.17). Although @Rockatansky says twice that. Terrible range on these bikes. The big drawback for touring on them...

    I got this. works good no errors or anything. AIS Valve Removal Kit with Block Off Plates PLE-135 I changed the exhaust too at near the same time. so I cant comment on heat reduction. but I cant imagine it doing very much for that.

    The CAT box does the muffling. So if you're looking for bit more growl out of it, I think you'd need to get rid of the CAT. The CAT and the stock exhaust outlets you see are one piece.
