Yet another Roadster with a dead transmission

2014 R3R, 44,000 miles, 4th gear dropping out under load, usually back into 3rd. Looks like it's my turn to become an uncertified Rocket technician. It sounds like either Robinson or Carpenter can rework the gearbox, including a billet 4th. 6 of one, half dozen of the other?

    Duh!

I was looking for my engine number, but didn't find it. Where did they put the little bugger? Also I have a complete factory TORS exhaust off a 2014 R3R. Is there any interest in such an item?

    Airbox removal/ breather access

I started to remove the airbox, but decided it was too much crap. So I went back to a more direct line of attack. I removed the big rubber connector from the front of the airbox. I pried the stock 'S' hose off the breather nipple, I already had decided to locate the filter to a more...

Remove the battery box frame! I hadn't tried that yet, but it might be the ticket. Thanks.

    Airbox removal/ breather access

Thanks for the suggestion. I was thinking of a K&N 62-1340 directly to the breather nipple or maybe a 62-1015 attached to a longer hose from the breather nipple so that I can locate the filter in a more accessible spot.

    Airbox removal/ breather access

I need to put a filter on the crankcase breather, but I can't even get my hands in there. So I'm trying to remove the airbox for access. After unbolting, the manual says to "manoeuvre" the airbox out of the frame. I'm trying to pull it from the right side, but it's very stubborn. Especially...

Volume of coolant overflow tank & relocating

I need to relocate my overflow tank. My impression is that the tank is above the radiator so that the fluid can ebb & flow as you mentioned as pressure/vacuum with no air in line. To put it under the seat would leave air in the line to the radiator because it is not a sealed system. The tank...

    Interested in R3R

I bought a new leftover 2014 for a mere $13,000. I've got 30,000 of trouble free fabulous riding. There's nothing like it. I've got 2 Harleys which I love, but the Triumph is a real beast that has mild manners until you twist the wick. I dressed it out with Clearview windshield, new grips...

    Roadster Handlebar Risers Research

I agree with Blip's assessment. I put Rivco risers on my 2014 even though Rivco said they weren't made to fit my 2014. I am running the stock cables with no problem (a little rerouting). I did have to disconnect the front brake line momentarily, but nothing leaked out and it works fine...
