The front fork caps on our Rockets. Are the caps under spring tension per chance?

After re-seating my leaking left front fork seal with Seal Mate; I want to add just a bit of fork oil back into it; since a little was lost during the tools use.

Not much was lost; but it would make me sleep better at night; knowing that both fork oil levels were level...

Dunno, but I was thinking if you jack up the engine to completely take the weight off the front wheel ( no compression in the forks)might ensure no hydraulic compression to the existing fluid???
Course, without completely draining both forks & refilling, how can you tell how many CC's you've lost? chances are its in single figures ( probably less than 5)

I am planning to make sure the bike is upright; remove both caps; and first measure the one on the right with a straw. Then measure the one on the left and if the level is less; then top it off to match the right fork; with 10w fork oil.

I didn't lose a whole lot of oil when I was using the Seal Mate; but it was enough to make a difference between the two forks; I am sure of that.

If the forks were not inverted; fluid loss would have been negligible.

you could jack up the front till the wheel is slightly airborn remove the big nuts but you would need an assistant with a bit of savvy to push the wheel upward with a plank or some thing then lower it carefully when you start screwin them nuts in ,they are a fairly fine thread and made of alooominum as are the forks so there is a risk that you might damage them if your not care full better drop out the wheel and mudgaurd then there is little weight ,in fact this far on drop the legs out after loosening the top nuts while still in the yokes turn em upside down refill re fit take you 2 hrs max when you fit the wheel in dont tighten the two pinch bolts till you have bounced the front end up and down a few times this centeres the fork leg so its not pinched in or out and binding
