    Gear-lever shaft

Recon engine is around £4500. Triumphant change 120 parts when they do an upgrade, so I'm favouring that option I think. If you add all the bits up buying them off triumph it would not be worth the hassle of doing it myself plus you need special tools to do it properly. A gasket set alone is...

    Gear-lever shaft

Took a ride in to town the other day, going through the gears and suddenly could not find the gear change lever. Pulled over and found it hanging down. So the bike is now stuck in fourth. Triumph dealer wants £70 an hour plus parts, stating that it takes a minimum of 20 hours to do. Or I can...

    Suspect TPS issue question

Thanks for that guys. I have ordered a cable from lonelec, and have downloaded drivers from tuneECU, I don't seem to be able to open the tune files that I have downloaded though. Is there a idiots guide to do what I want somewhere as I am not very computer savy and all this looks very...

    Suspect TPS issue question

Hi Guy's I am having a problem with my 05 that I am assuming is the primary tps. I will sometimes start the bike, and she is idling at around 2000rpm, switch off the ignition, restart her and the normal 850rpm might be had, or sometimes several restarts might be needed before normal idling...

    0W-40 oil

What made me buy 0W40 oil really was the good price they were offering it at. It was a Castrol oil which I have always trusted, and the blurb on the can made it out to be really good. I just never thought about the clutch issue. I will not use it in the bike now, I have bought Castrol Power1...

    0W-40 oil

Yes you are spot on, I had a real stupid moment there, I never even thought about having to get motorcycle specific oil, doh. I will take it back and change it today. The reduced price shoved all the common sense out of my head. Thanks for that guys.

    0W-40 oil

I have bought oil today ready to do an oil change, and had a good deal on "Mobil 1 new life 0W-40" fully synthetic oil. Now I am home I am wondering if this oil will be too thin. Will it cause any harm to the engine? I would appriciate your thoughts on this. Cheers Graham

    Fried headlight pigtail

Has anyone tried these? Also would these cure the switch overheating problem? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRIUMPH-H4-Headlight-Easy-Start-Control-Module-Power-Saving-Module-/400258013278?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item5d313c985e

    Keyless Ignition

Am I right in thinking that the clutch lever does not need to be pulled in to start the bike with this system.? If not, would it try and start if the bike was in gear.? Sorry if it's a stupid question but I'm no auto electrician, but I would like to try this mod at some stage.

    MPG

I get between 27 and 33 with standard filter, cat delete and ToRs. I keep saying I'll ride slowly to see how much I can get per gallon, but then I start the engine and forget all about it. Oh well there's always next time.

    Engine mounting bolt question

As long as the bolt is threaded through the nut the same length as it's diameter it will be at maximum strength, ie 12mm bolt -12mm wide nut, 10mm bolt -10mm wide nut. I hope that makes sense to you
