    The clutch saga continues...

Quick recap - my clutch does not fully disengage once the bike warms up. Cold, everything works the way it should. Warm, I can not go into neutral from first, and if I rev it a little with the clutch handle pulled in it will try to take off. I have had the lifter arm replaced (it was...

2006 Classic clutch works until it is warm

No spank, more of a playful swat. Could the plates be bad?

    mystery vents

So I was cleaning up a gnarly wiring mess - someone had put in a custom headlight bypass back in the bike's track days. Here is the underside of my tank. It has two little mystery vents, on dribbles gasoline when the tank is tilted. 1) What are they?, and 2) are they supposed to be connected...

2006 Classic clutch works until it is warm

**UPDATE** The lifter shaft was toast. Got it replaced, and clutch now works, but I still have some issues. When sitting at idle it is difficult to pop it into gear, and if already in gear it is nearly impossible to get into neutral until I turn it off. It also feels like it is ever so...

2006 Classic clutch works until it is warm

LOL, I guess a quick update is in order. This bike has been heavily modified. It was built in Ken Wheeler's shop (wheelersperformancedotcom), belonged the dad of one of his mechanics. It has ported/polished head, high compression pistons, air box delete/K&N intake, carpenter exhaust, manual...

2006 Classic clutch works until it is warm

On a scale of "no problem" to "holy s#!t" how bad are we talking? And I am inclined to agree with this assessment since when I was taking this picture and messing with the adjustment the arm would not return to its lowest position on its own.

2006 Classic clutch works until it is warm

I understand the pressure plate and free moving discs, what I am not getting is how the flywheel still engaging when the handle is pulled will be alleviated by more free play in the lever. That seems counterintuitive.

How would no free play cause it to fail? Not being argumentative, I am genuinely curious.

2006 Classic clutch works until it is warm

Tried to move the reservoir out of the way to give a clear shot. The motor is not revving, because the gear is engaging even with the clutch handle pulled in the bike is stuttering and stalling.

2006 Classic clutch works until it is warm

I have a 2006 Rocket 3 Classic. The clutch works fine on cold start, then when it gets warm - in a minute or two - will progressively fail. Stalls, I have to put it in neutral to re-start it, and it grinds if you try to downshift into first. Let it sit and cool and you will get another minute...

    Seats

I have a 2006 Rocket 3 Classic with a one-piece seat for rider and passenger. Is it possible to put a 2-piece on it, or are they completely different mounting systems? Are there any models/brands that can be adapted with minimal tinkering?

    Exhaust manifold gaskets

I have done a search and did not find a specific post on this, so please forgive me if it has already been addressed. I am looking for a good source (I am in the U.S.) for exhaust manifold gaskets. TIA

    Exhaust wrap?

I actually contacted them. They keep trying to sell me on the 1300 because I don't "have a turbo or nitrous". Still waiting on an estimate. Not particularly impressed with customer service so far.
