  1. Troubles with TPS

I have a scanguage mounted on the bike so that is where I was able to observe the random fluctuations in tps percentage. The stumble would follow along with the tps percentage changing and could result in a surge or a massive bang from the exhaust. Also on acceleration it was very rough unless...
  2. Troubles with TPS

Not sure those would do it since the TPS is well sealed from the outside. It appears to have come from the inside of the throttle body but there are no fuel lines or places for it to leak in through. I will tell you that drying it out and using the dielectric grease seems to have fixed the...
  3. Troubles with TPS

I have been having problems with stumbling ar low throttle positions. Figured it was a TPS. Tested and adjusted and things got better only to get worse again over time. Checked everything including all connections and pinching of wiring harness and again all seemed good. Things got worse...
  4. Is the TPS sealed?

Thanks so much IDK. the reading was off by .04 adjusted as your and tune ecu instructions and it seems better. Now I need to get it out for a ride but will have to wait for the rain to stop.
  5. Is the TPS sealed?

Okay. Thank you. I tried to find if it was supposed to be tested with the engine running or not and could find the answer. Still learning Tune ecu have used it for maps and such but never for diagnostics or testing. First time I have needed to.
  6. Is the TPS sealed?

It is wavering between .62 and .69 at idle (running rich by smell). I do believe it is supposed to be rock solid. The question is could it be the a dirty TPS or a bad wiring connection (which I will be following up on in the next couple of days). I have to order the TPS as none are in stock...
  7. Is the TPS sealed?

I have been having some weird surging on my R3T. I plugged in my Autel monitor and set it to view the TPS while riding. It is fluctuating and hitting 0% without the throttle position changing at all. I inspected my TPS and found that the rubber boot was not snug and there is also a tear in it...
  8. oil change intervals ( Members survey)

The main "dirt" in dino oil is actually the oil itself. As it breaks down (litterraly) the molecules shred and recombine in much less desirable ways. Synthetic oil is is manufactured so that you dont get the abrasive clumps. You can feel the difference in a finger/thumb friction test of used...
  9. Replacing a Main Harness

If it was good until you washed it then you started to get the problems you most likely have soap creating a ground or cross. I would wast it really well with clear water then spray it with wd-40. Should get rid of any electrical leakage. Then you know if it is a main harness issue.
  10. Roadster fuel guage

I have an R3T. the miles to empty goes all the way to zero one by one but I still have a minimum of four litres left when I fill. There could be a reason Triumph does it this way. The fuel pump is cooled by the fuel surrounding it. Perhaps they want to make sure the pump is immersed at all...
  11. Battery again

The faster you pump in the current (higher Amps) the hotter the battery gets. If it is really dead you can start at a higher setting but don't leave it there for very long. 15-30 minutes max. Then finish to full charge with the lowest setting. Ideally you have an ammeter on the front of your...
  12. Leaving the Thermostat out ???

The thermostat is very important. It lets your engine run cooler. I know that sounds odd but it is true. I built a Pontiac 455 up to 675 hp and 750 lb ft. The guy putting the car back together said that he left out the thermostat for better cooling. Sounded great to me. The thing boiled...
  13. weird noises

Could also be almost anything else attached to the swingarm. Shocks, low tire pressure, Accessories like bags, sissy bar or backrest. Make sure everything is tight and solid. Then go into the cush and bevelbox. Could be oil level in the bevelbox.
  14. engine light on, new used bike

I had an engine light come on after I had the tank up. Started it ran like crap engine light on. Cleared light with a reader and everything was smooth as silk. Ran through a couple more tanks of fuel no problem. Popped up the tank again and the same thing happened. I think it was that I...
  15. Triumph CLOCK and FUEL GAUGE - EBay UK. NEW.

I know they put the pricing at what they think they can get away with. I'm in Canada and when the US had their R3T fully kitted out for 17K it was 19K here with no accessories. And Our Dollar is pretty much on par with the US and all our parts and stock and service and sales come from Atlanta...
