Why are people selling their Rockets?

    I don’t know, I’ve had mine since 2004… 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Rocket owners average age!

    65 don’t remind me

    Old school

It’s been awhile since I’ve been on here. There was a guy that sold custom stainless steel brake line clamps (to replace those cheesey plastic ones) and I think he also sold a leather stiffener set for the bags and a really good leather cleaning/preservative product for the bags…. I am trying...

This should be simple, headlights don't work

Oh hey tdragger! Good to "see" ya! Yea, I'm still here, hangin on. You know you only hear from me when I have a problem- I guess I've been pretty lucky that way... maybe that relay was stuck... but here is the end of this story: I was putting everything back to together, resigned to ride...

BTW, I also checked voltage across batt terminals, 12.4V off, 14.4V at idle. And, took the high/low beam switch apart. Contacts slightly dark, not bad at all, but I cleaned with eraser and put it all back together. Even tried two more new bulbs. No joy...

Thank-you! It may come to that! I used to have some skills, I've been retired for awhile and so I'm much less confident in getting in over my head on this. Like the thread said, dammit, this should be simple! haha

I've got the Service Manual... I don't want to attempt wire tracing on this bike, though. Finding someone, that's the trick. I'll update when this is fixed! Thanks, all...

you're so right, I do. unfortunate for me I'm in a new area where there are no mc shops, and my registration is about to run out, and i'm in a new state, and the DMV u can't even get them on the phone to get an appointment...have no idea what passes for a mc inspection in nc nor where to get...

Here's the bulb that I figured blew (and was the only problem I had), and I opted to just replace both of them with sylvania's.

Yea, my diagnostic skills are pretty limited--- to put it mildly! The bulbs do not light. I only checked for voltage on the connector blades, not plugged into bulb, no load.

This should be simple, headlights don't work

I'm happy to try, soon as I figure out where to get one... tomorrow... but if fuse is bad wouldn't all the other circuits on that position be affected and would I be seeing 12 volts at the head light connectors? [EDIT] Did pull fuse in position 9, which is a 20A fuse for the upper and lower...

This should be simple, headlights don't work

So I've had this bike since 2004, have probably had one headlight bulb go bad over the years. Recently I moved and had a 6 hour ride to get to my new garage. Get on the bike to go and suddenly the headlights don't light. Didn't have time to deal with, so ran with fog lights and hoped for the...
