    Starting problem

I actually purchased a new starter relay as they weren't much so thought it was worth a try. After changing it there was no difference. Other than that I've not had much time to look at it this weekend. It's been a busy weekend but the next step is to go through the suggestions from here when I...

    Starting problem

That's the one I was wondering. In part I was curious as a few months ago I needed to change the flasher unit for the indicators and I had experienced some intermittent times of the bike not starting first time, not long after that. With the flasher relay going I had wondered if some water may...

No Cat left Girders and it's Sid that took over. I think Cat is still doing Harleys himself though. I'm just interested to find the options of where to get a starter relay from and how much as I explore all the options. I'd prefer not to resort to the dealership though if I can avoid it. I've...

No, I havnt checked that or the actual kill switch either. I would have thought it wouldn't make an attempt at all if it was either those but yes it's on the eventual list of possibilities to try.

Just as a potential option to look into, does anyone know where ai can get a starter relay from? I can see any on ebay or from Fowlers website and can't see one from searching on Google.

    Starting problem

Thanks DEcosse and Kipper. I'll check the battery under load and try checking the response of the headlight to holding in the starter button. Just to point out Kipper, I have tried with a battery jump starter that I've used to start the rocket before, but there was no difference. I'm over in...

That's helpful bigprop. I have seen the solenoid repair kit on ebay and was considering that as its only about £13.50 or so. I'll have a look at the earth connections too. What is the starter relay mod? And how would that help?

    Starting problem

13v was the reading this morningnwhen it was cold. There was little change in the voltage after I had been trying to start the bike today and have had the electrics and lights switched on for some time today. I put it back on charge and its currently 13.6v. Its a Motobatt battery that was bought...

    Starting problem

The wires and connections appear fine but is there any advice about checking the solenoid. I am kind of wondering if that may be the route of the problem and the "clack" noose

    Starting problem

Yes I've checked those. Battery has been kept charging with an oximiser and showing over 13v. I did also try with a battery booster just in case but no joy. No issues with fuses from what I can see from checking them.

It's more of a "clack" noise too. Sort of loud, then it all stops and resets

Thanks for replying Barbagris. I have tried with the side stand up. On trying it again and noting your question... The lights stay on, it's the engine management light that goes out. Abs light always stays on as that is another issue that the bike has had for some time. I made a short video of...

    Starting problem

I'm just looking for some advice. I'm having starting issues with my 2012 Triumph Rocket 3. When turning the key the ignition comes on and the bike goes through its electrical checks. When holding in the clutch and pressing the starter button there is a click then nothing. After resetting...
