2007 Triumph Rocket - Speedo stopped but Odometer works

Hey Kevin! Thanks for the info. I'll be curious to see what happens with your new sensor. I have the ECU cable so I suppose I'll hook that guy up and see if there are any codes on mine. -GL

2007 Triumph Rocket - Speedo stopped but Odometer works

Hey guys! I guess I'm a dinosaur with my 2007 R3. Nonetheless, last summer I put the bike away with no issues. ran it a few times over the winter and kept it on a tender. Today I jump on and the dials act a bit weird. They don't sweep when I turn the bike on, but wait until its running and...

    REAR TRUNK Rocket III

I have this one: http://www.mutazu.com/products.php?cat_id=2&menu=DB%20Trunk%20Series&product_id=21&s=prod.php It is the Matazu referenced above. It's a good trunk for the money. It fits a baby. Here's a pic of it installed:

    Best parts source in US?

I deal with Jason also for parts on the Triumph and also my Yamaha vmax. Recently he quoted me around $850 for a new crankshaft and both Triumph dealerships quoted around $1150.

As they say, "An oldie but a goodie." And btw ... I absolutely love my modular helmet.

    Oil Change

I just did mine a couple of months ago. I think I'm into it about $50.00 for the fancy oil and about 20-30 minutes of my time. You can re-use the washers ... Live and learn. I agree that $200 is outrageous for an oil change.

    Gremlins???

I'm thinking you may have a short developing in the key/ignition switch. Mine was running fine, then dead. Depending on the angle of the handle bars, it would run or not run. As the bars turned, it was connecting and disconnecting the faulty wire. I replaced the unit and then relocated it to...

Idle Adjustment (mechanically?) - Need Help

FIXED! Thanks guys. For the sake of others, here is the magic bob screw that Warp and Ruzzle pointed me to. You don't need to remove the bear claw, but I did, and it is much easier if you do. Here are two pics of the same thing from different angles. The second one is straight on. This is how...

Idle Adjustment (mechanically?) - Need Help

Thanks! Yes, I have the stepper motor. I probably have the map sensor also. Ruzz pointed me the the screw as well. Between the two of you ... I should be able to find the thing! I'm gonna give it a shot when I get home from work. Let's see ... its 5:45pm now ... I screwed around half the day...

Idle Adjustment (mechanically?) - Need Help

Perfect! Thanks Warp (yes, engine light stays on all the time). Oooh ... I have a PM from Ruzzle ... I'll see what he says too.

Idle Adjustment (mechanically?) - Need Help

OK, here is a pic of the left hand side of the oil tank. I'm pointing to the phantom part that is missing from my bike. Not totally sure if it matters or not, but this should answer warp's question: Hehe ... maybe I'm totally crazy. Not sure. But it seems like there used to be a little servo...

Idle Adjustment (mechanically?) - Need Help

It might be the idle stepper that is missing, and not the TPS. I have not messed with the TPS voltage whatsoever. I will take a pic tonight of the missing component on the left of the throttle bodies and post it. That should answer your question ... since I am not able to :-( Thanks! -GL...

Idle Adjustment (mechanically?) - Need Help

So I need to adjust my idle up by maybe 300-400 RPMs. It hovers right around 650-700 now. With the supercharger pulley dragging on the engine it sounds like total crap at that range and is extremely rough. If I hold it anywhere in the 900 to 1100 range it purrs like a little kitten, regardless...

removing the rear wheel from a rocket 111

I am not sure what silencers are, but if they are mufflers, then mine are stock and I've never removed them whilst removing the wheel. As for the plate hanger, I got rid of that ugly contraption long long ago, so I didn't even think of that. But it sounds like simply lifting the bike to extend...

removing the rear wheel from a rocket 111

I think there are some pics around, but from memory: [] Remove the rear caliper [] Remove the gigantic bolt (through the center of the wheel) [] Slide the entire wheel/tire/rotor assembly to the right, out of the gear meshing. Obviously you'll want to have the bike lifted. Its surprisingly...
