    Knackered gearbox

Sounds like a similar issue with my R3T with 43k miles. I've been quoted 10 hours of shop time just to have a look. Silly thing is the parts are relatively inexpensive. Much of the repair is just labor charges. :(

    Up shift misses gear

Would that be something a non mechanic like myself could do ? Or would a trip to the dealer be better ?

    Up shift misses gear

Just today I took the old girl out for a ride and almost every time I shift up from 1st, it will skip and go into neutral. I have to shift again, and sometimes again to get it to go into gear. It happens going into 2, 3, and 4 sometimes. I checked the clutch cable, there's no difference in...

Don't over torque oil drain plugs.

I made the investment in a torque wrench. Something close to $50 for piece of mind. I use it when I pull the wheels off as well.

    New Avon Rear Tire

Just had a new set of tires put on. Avon Cobras. I've only got about 400 miles on them so far, but they seem to grip better than the Metzelers I had before. As noted above, the front does seem to turn in better. I thought something was 'wrong' at first, but got used to it quickly. I hope...

Is it just me or is the R3 appreciating in value?

I'd like to see R3s appreciate in value. I don't know if that's the reality though. Maybe someone out there would buy my R3T for what I owe on it. I can dream , right ?

    Why the Rocket over T-Bird

I've had my R3T for two full years and 40k miles now. I can tell you that around town this bike is one heavy beast. On the open road its fine. The are comfort issues for me, but not all owners have these problems. My comfort issues are due mostly to my own physical condition (neck, shoulder...

    Elite 3's for R3T ?

I've only had the Metz tires, with the exception hof the crappy oem tires. Handling is decent. I'd like to maybe try the Avons just to see if they last as long or better. I've read that they do handle better.

    Elite 3's for R3T ?

Just checking options. I've gone through 3 sets of Metzelers now. They wear out pretty quick, usually within 8k. I've considered the Avon Cobras as they are the only other brand that has both fronts and rears for the R3T. I did look back at that listing, apparently there is no version...

    Elite 3's for R3T ?

I was shopping for tires and happened to notice this. Will this work for our R3T's ? Dunlop Elite 3 Touring Radial Rear Tire - Cruiser Motorcycle - Motorcycle Superstore

    R3 big rear on R3T

I installed a 205 CT for a while. I never got used to the handling characteristics. Tried lots of different pressures and such. Went back to a MT. And to answer the question, no. Can't fit the rear end from a Standard / Classic. Different frames.

    Seriously Considering an R3!

St. Pete Powersports are a good dealership. I've been dealing with them for another bike. They are definitely a Triumph shop (along with other brands). Another dealer is Eurocycles in Odessa (Tampa). They are more interested in BMW / Ducati than Triumph, but they are a good small family...

    Has Anyone Switched Out Handlebars?

I did the Rivco risers on my R3T. Still not comfortable. I haven't had any luck finding better bars either. Some have suggested looking at HD bars, but none I've found have any better pull back. One of the reasons I'm trying to find my R3T a new home.
