Hi Jester. I was advised to contact you concerning floorboard mods. I have to do something about mine. At 6'5"/280 my R3T seems rather small. I must relocate those floor boards and would like to hear any advice when you have time. Thanks, Tom

The foot controls are actually pretty easy to move. For a 2" relocation, it's really simple to cut out the whole floorboard assembly, cut out the section of tube ahead of it, and reweld it. The two sections can be butt welded but I had access to a metal lathe and made a couple of spool pieces for extra strength. You'll also need to extend the rear brake line and shorten the shifter threaded rod.

For a 4" relocation, you'll have to rework all of the forward curves to make it fit. You also have to rotate the crash bars forward by cutting and rewelding the seams at the attachment points. Very simple procedure but you have the cost to rechrome them.

The shifter threaded rod is very short at this location and is kind of sketchy; I'm going to move the connection point to the toe shifter section. I'll dig up the photos and post the procedure. All told I have 40 hours of fabrication time and $100 invested.
For more than 4" you'll have to move the floorboard assembly ahead of the rail which will require more involved fabrication.
