Urethane clear coat chipping

I have used the search section for an answer, maybe I overlooked it. I would like to know what is the solution to the urethane clear coat chipping on the older R3 wheels?

Triumph was replacing those under warranty. Their solution to the problem was to stop coating them.

Otherwise I would think that any automotive stripper would work to remove the coating but it might take the black paint off also.

This place has a ton of different strippers and coatings.

Thanks guys, I think I will be in touch with the dealer, four months left under warranty. Its worth a try. Did you have that problem Greg?; and have yours clear powder coated?

very thin stuff.

no problems yet with the wheels.top yoke has some lacquer separation though. very thin coating is what i'm thinking causes the problem. gonna go clear powder coat when i redo skins......

Has anyone on this site had there wheels replaced under warranty for the urethane clear coat coming off ?
