I can see this question has been covered a number of times, but they are a number of years old now.
As technology moves along, so tyres improve and move on.
On my last three bikes, 07 Triumph R111, Thunderbird Storm 1700 and Yamaha Royal Star Venture, on all three I’ve run Avon Cobra or Cobra Chrome.
Now from my understanding Cobra’s are starting to be hard to get and pricy, so what are other British R111 riders currently using on their bikes and what is the consensus on best value for money.
TIA

Not a lot of choices out there ? Cobra metzler and odd ball Bridgestone 240/55/16 i see now why the darkside is so tempting!

I posted that in January in the meantime, in late March I took a trip from Lowestoft to Peterborough for a dyno run and get the ECU reprogrammed.
Around ten miles away, I picked up a puncture in the back. Managed to get some air in it and got to BDM for my tune up.
The tyre was mullered, so they phoned around for a replacement and all they could get was a Metzler Tourtec. So when I got home, I replaced the Avon front with a Metzler Tourtec as well. They had fun finding that also.
Pleasantly impressed impressed with the Metzler as well.

The original tires were Metzeler ME 888's if memory serves. I went dark side from 2009 to 2017 and never regretted it, but that's when I lived in Kansas were no curves are found on any road (state is literally flatter than a pancake). Didn't dislike the Metz's just too expensive and only lasted 6K miles.

Well I found a Bridgestone 240/55/16
For $323.00 canadain.going to pull the trigger on it. I've removed rears on my vtx 1800 can't imagine it's much harder on the rocket!

Having just converted $Can to £Stirling that equates to @£175, that’s not bad! I just looked up the U.K. price, we’d pay £246 for one!😫

Straight roads would ruin a MC tyre, especially with the amount of torque these kick out.
