Tinnitus treatment

Find an ENT that has heard of Meniere's disease. (Ménière's Disease). I had a fullness moving to severe tinnitus in one ear for a day or so and then got dizzy. Scared me so bad I went to ER. Dizzy, loss of hearing one side, I was afraid of stroke (Dad had one). Never had an episode in 52 years and it has been 6 month since it occurred w/o another episode.

The good thing about Meniere's, if one can say anything good about it, is that it is transitory. I recall when I was about 15 years old seeing my father crawling down the hall trying to get to the bedroom, vomiting along the way. It scared the hell out of me. It was a very bad case of Meniere's and thankfully it never returned.

It's almost humorous but I've been up for several hours and have not noticed my tinnitus. I sit down to check on the forum and read this thread before hitting the rain locker and guess what, I have a loud ringing in my ears. :(

Exactly the same for me ,it returns when my brain recalls that I have it sort of on queue:mad::mad:

Thanks for those therapeutic "New Age" recordings you posted up TRIICK & barbagris. They actually provided immediate relief, though I'm certain that it is temporary relief.

7 years living in Cali back in the 70s without helmet laws and lacking the knowledge that the wind whistling past my eardrums would result in the big T. Fortunately it is more like a high frequency, variably pitched and oscillating whining rather than a "ringing". One learns to cope with such things, by necessity...

This technique actually works for me, so i hope it helps for some of you, too:

I can't believe how many of us have Tinnitus. Mates, I have a long history of fighting this, and I have something to share about it.

I bought my Rocket in 2014, to give myself something good after I caught a severe case of Tinnitus. It was the sort that comes and goes, from tingling and hissing to sharp noises and sometimes it felt like noise explosions in my head. It would then go away for a day or two, only to come back really badly. It also came with dizzyness and fatigue sometimes.
What really made me feel strange is that it never sounded like it was coming from the ears, but more like from the middle of my head.

Anyway, to make a very long story short: after the best doctors completely failed to help me, I found out that I could soothe it noticeably with Ibuprofen. It would calm down for an hour or so. Also I could influence it by softly wiping the temples and sides of my head with both hands, sometimes even making it go away for a minute or so. So obviously this was not an ear problem, and I started to search for other reasons.

I spent two really bad years finding out what it actually was. Result: F*cking Teeth!
I had tooth 22 and 25 removed, and 13 and 23 were root treated by a specialized dentist (endodontologist). This happened over the course of a year, and with each of these treatments, my T was getting noticeably better.
After tooth 13 and 23 were done, finally my Tinnitus is almost gone!!! I can say that I am back to a normal life now, and I feel 10 years younger than I felt two years ago.

So if any of you has a similar T experience to what I had, but hearing tests show no problems: check your "Vampire teeth" 13 and 23. I think, more or less it saved my life to have them done. Both of these teeth were completely unobtrusive when x-rayed, but both of them were in fact dead and secretly rotting inside my bone.

Hearing protection is one reason I researched and purchased a Shoei helmet from a list of the top 5 quietest on the market (though for longer trips I still have ear plugs).
