Have any of you guys tried Earfuze?

This stuff is cool (and cheep. I like cheep). My coworker ordered this stuff out of a motomag. but his invoice had their website.

It's a type of plastic compound you mix like epoxy. You put the earbud in your ear and then form fit the silicone to your ear.

I think the company should sell just the compound to make form fitting earplugs.

I just sent away for the red and blue set (red=right, blue=left for the mentally challenged) - $35 free shipping. They have sets for a few bucks more that has a "trial run" amount of stuff to do a dry run. I better get it right the first time.

Here's the link: http://www.earfuze.com/index.html

If they have gun shows where you are there are usually guys there making these custom plugs for around $20, and you get to try them for fit before you buy.

OK now I know why they offer a kit with a trial run. The right one is perfect but the left one is just OK. Guess which one I did first.

How did yours turn out Willtill?

Well, here are the ones I made. I didn't try a practice one, went ahead and did the left one first, and then the right. They seal pretty good. The headphones that came with them are OK, nothing phenomenal. I haven't tried them yet under the helmet though....

I did have extra material left over from each ear as I formed them; they do give you enough in each container to mold them. It's not sticky, the two components when kneaded together is sort of like a silly putty.

You could substitute good earpieces for the ones that came with the kit. e.g. mold them around some ipod earpieces.

I actually thought of that. I have a set of SkullCandy earpieces that I like, but wasn't sure if the putty would've ruined the acoustics; due to the SkullCandy earpieces being vented on the outer ends....
