When I rode my GT back from dealer after 600 mile service, it was raining like hell and yes the rooster tail effect was so severe that I literally had mud in the seat not to mention the entire back half of the bike smothered in grey road ****. However, I have a plexiglas 'platform' I made that is about 20" wide and10" deep (front to back) that is affixed to the tail rack to support a rear luggage bag. Apparently it solved the problem because I'm over 4000 miles now including many rain days and the problem has disappeared.You're not just a pretty face, are ya? Just kidding
