Welcome from Australia Mate, No wonder she dont like touring in the back of the VMax cos ya gotta stop for fuel too often..:D:rolleyes:

I can get 80 to 100 miles with the Max....in my first tank on the Rocket, I got about 110. Hehe...I don't think the Carpenter mod did wonders for fuel economy.

There's always something to do, eh? NY...used to run up to Bear Mountain for rides; lived in Jersey for a number of years. There's some beautiful country up that way with fun roads!

gday and welcome mate.

hows the touring go with some work?

So far she goes like stink. She doesn't have the brutal (and exhilarating) power delivery Mr. Max has...with that one, power is right f**king now...you think about it and you're lunging forward at any speed. With Freyja the R3T, she's perfect civilized until you mash the throttle, which is perfect for a touring bike with giant hairy balls. Get the rpm's up a bit and she starts rushing by so fast you gotta plan for it before it happens. I think she's faster than the Max, but I need to take them both to the dragstrip and find out. I likey so far and I haven't stretched her legs quite yet. I've only got about 150 miles on her so far; I have a shattered wrist and dislocated shoulder from dropping a shovehead 9 weeks ago and I'm just now getting back on a bike...but I'm pushing her pretty quick. I don't like the seat; it puts me too far forward and makes me feel like a giant on a small bike which is just wrong. Don't care for the handlebar position..need it a bit taller, bit narrower, with a bit less pulled back angle. She handles exceptionally well for a big bike; I scraped pegs on both sides on the inaugural ride with confidence. Good stuff.

Hmmm....Spang, NJ, CO...we may be in the same line of work  And yes, the festivals are great here although my wife won't let me taste any of the redheads  Besides the riding here the two next best things are that it's always festival season and the slopes stay open into May!!!

Great riding in all three places...If you only got 110 on that tank, don't think my rocket will ever see Mr Carpenter  Of course from the sound of your stable, don't think I probably have the throttle twisted quite as far as often as you may :D

Spang,NJ??? Ain't no such place!:p

Perhaps Sparta, NJ or some other locale near to the Picatinny Arsenal about 25 minutes from me?
