Snorkel

Just a warning for all of you who have removed the snorkel assembly from under the seat. I ran through some standing water today and when I got home I had water in the air box. I don't think any water got into the engine, but if I had the snorkel in place I don't believe the water would have gotten in there. I have put the snorkel back on. I may get into some rain on the way to ES.

Properly treated (new) K&N filters should ward off any moisture, unless submerged while "breathing" is taking place.

I'm thinking it would really take a good drowning to get through the filter but some of us just might experience such a happening.

If you're at all concerned about performance, the snorkel should be the first thing to go. it's pulling air from behind the bike - against low pressure. It must be restricting flow.

I might try pulling the snorkel this weekend when/if I get to clean my bike up from the trip.. Just to see what kind of difference there is..
