There is a mod so your covers dont get lost.
I think it involves a loose cable tie. Aforum search should find exactly what it is.

Yeah, I drilled a small hole through the rear mounting "stem" near the panel end of the sidepanel and threaded a cable tie through there, then wrapped it loosely around the frame. You can still take the panel off and lay it on the passenger foot plate if you need to get under there. Barring major violence it should stay on even if it comes loose from the grommets. Personally I also siliconed the grommets into place to make it less likely I push them out. Others have replaced the grommets with thicker ones that grip the panel tighter.
