Gary, Good information - thanks for the post. Very helpful to old 'torque monsters' like me. Hmmm, was that 3 grunts or 4 before it's goodantight?

It doesn't help that the owners handbook only show the torque value of the filler plug to check the level. It is 60 nm ( 44 ft/lbs). the drain plug according to the workshop manual says 15 nm for the drain plug ( 11 ft/lbs). Be warned! and yes I snapped the head off using a torque wrench to the wrong value before getting a manual
Poor on Triumph's part or are we only supposed to let a "trained Triumph technician" change our oil?

Why not just magnetize the (new) plug?

This is really good to know. Thanks Gary.

Tom, I think maybe you're in danger of letting logic cloud your thinking!

Thanks, Gary, for the heads up.
