Radiator hoses.

Thanks Richard.
I remember reading that thread before Christmas.I was thinking something more like this myself.

Would make it wider across the point/front. More like a spoiler, and press louvres into it as well so that it didn't restict cool air to the lower end of the motor.

Lots of custom ideas I've got on the drawing board but need to get on top of my piad workload before I start playing with it.

Planning on having all this done before the RDU trip in September tho, so you'll get to see what I'm up to then.

Im still waiting for a tank and side cover badge from my crash 12 weeks ago. Got the bike back early January glad its not something that would stop me riding it.

The lower front hose is bigger at the pump end. The rear hose is the same size both ends,a straight hose off one diameter as i remember
In saying that it will swell a little ,if you see more than that time for a new one .

Cheers Pedro.
Pretty much answers all my questions right there.
If the hose is made with a step up in size at the bottom then the look I've got is pretty normal.

Is showing signs of swelling so time for an upgrade me thinks.

I would assume if you bought a new hose from Triumph it would be manufactured larger on one end before it is mounted to the water pump. If not I bet it is a hassle to get that hose on.

I'm thinking about something similar to that for a bit of protection on mine. A bit higher to meet up with the bottom of the radiator would be good. Would make it alot easyer to clean too.

Sounds like it's nothing to worry about then.

I'm gunna look into braided hoses to fit to it in the near future anyway so hopefully nothing serious goes wrong till then.

Thanks all for your feedback.

Mate when you find out about the braided hose can you post info on your supplier, part numbers etc. My hose bubbled like yours two days after I bought the bike brand new.

In September I think we will have to take lots of photos of mods and post pictures RDU - Rockets Downunder. Great Aussie Mods and Inventions. I would like to think that al the hard work some of our captains have put into their own custom mods may provide a bit of financial rewards for them.

Now that i have found my spare radiator hoses i see the rear pump hose has a very slightly larger diameter at the pump end.
i had said i thought it was one diameter, which was incorrect.

Radiator Hose Leak!!

I have an 08 R3T with 35,000+ miles and the upper radiator hose started leaking a few weeks ago.I retightened the hose clamp and cleaned the engine block..the leak has quit.I put 6-7 ounces of coolant to fill the radiator.I also ordered all 4 replacement hoses from Triumph(about $17 usd each) and will replace all hoses soon..no breakdown/water leak for me on the road..probably cost more than $68 to fix one hose when required on the road!!
