.... keeps on turning, long after the engine has been shut off:eek:. Watched the thing go on regardless for over 15 minutes. By then, the engine was almost cold. Only way to stop it is to disconnect the battery. This is happening to a friend's Rocket, every time the engine is switched off. Any clue appreciated. Thanks. Jamie

The service manual shows the relay to the cooling fan under the left side cover. It's the third one from the front. That would be my first suspect. Contacts inside the relay can stick. Try tapping on it or unplugging it. The first relay is the for the fuel pump, I think they may be the same part number. You could try swapping positions of these two relays to see if the problem follows. If it does it's a bad relay. The middle relay is for the engine management ,that might be the same type relay also but I would not suggest using the EMS circuit for trouble shooting .

The coolant temp sensor feeds information to the engine management system. That should be switched off with the ignition switch. I don't think that would be the problem.

Good Luck.

Thanks Lester. The dealer, BTW, was totally mystified over the phone! Will look up my friend's mount later this morning and do what you are suggesting. Best. Jamie

BTW Jamie, so glad you are keeping former fellow captains tuned in. And, a fellow Swiss BIS head economist fore-told the devastation that would result from the engineered financial failure of the Maestro, Greenspan. Mr. White deserves a round of applause for trying to warn the world.

I was heard to say for his entire tenure as Fed Chairman; "when
greenspan has a gastroenteritis attack or speaks in public, economies in the world are taking a $41T!"

When you think about it: If you want to stay in hiding, say nothing till you make a move. I guess I'm not expecting for myself to stay under the radar much longer.
