radiator cooling fan

i dont think its quite 40 Jesse! LOL But that is funny......I believe its three heat cycles before it will reset....but it will reset........so the heat cycle would be on and heated to operating temp then off and cooled then repeat a couple more times......That may not be exactly right but its close enough for horseshoes and hand grenades!!!:D

Yes you are correct it has already reset itself this evening :D I noticed the little rubber holders that held the relays to the bracket had all dry rotted cleaned the rubber up and the metal bracket took gorilla glue applied it to the rubber that was left put it back to the metal bracket with zip tie to hold each one. I figured the redneck way would probably hold better than ordering a new rubber harness

Hello,

I think I'm dealing with the same issue. Here a photos of what I found when I took off the left panel. Apparently the rubber piece that mounts the relays to the bike gave way a long time ago. So two questions. In the image with the relays, what is the spare empty connector? Also in the other image....WTF is this for?

Thank you. So would the next obvious step be to replace the relay and see if that fixes it? Basic problem is that the fan is not coming on. I think I know the answer to this but there is no role in the thermostat with this described problem right?

Also, I've since figured out that the other empty connector is for heated grips.

Uncle Jessee, did you replace the relay with one from a parts store, etc? I think the triumphs use a relay with a diode across the coil of the relay to prevent a "spike" of electric charge from damaging the ECU when the relay is de-activated...the relays look the same as the diode is internal. Maybe someone else may know the answer.

I think I've got this now. I compared the fan relay to the other relays and it seem as though the contact is a bit charred.

Does it strike you as odd that a mechanical incompetent like me solved this with the help of this thread but the Triumph dealership couldn't?
