You guys should't complain. Detectors are flat-out banned in Oz. The cops even have detector detectors that will nail you if you have an operating detector on board.

Fines are massive.. haven't looked it up, but years ago it was something like $1,500 on the spot... and automatic confiscation of your device.

If you had the device hidden, they could impound your vehicle and tear it apart to find it. You can imagine what condition the vehicle would be in when you got it back.

Virginia or West Virginia they are illegal too, signs at the state line.

I have been enjoying the Miami North Turnpike on the way to work at 0500... It's been pretty common to get past by a patrol car while most of us are doing 70-75 in a 60... Just do it respectful and safe Won't mention who often gets out ahead... out of safety of space...

Of course radar detectors aren't a guarantee. You need a lot of common sense to go along. That said, I've had them in every vehicle, 2 wheels and 4, for the last 40 years. And yes I've gotten a couple of speeding tickets. But, I couldn't begin to count the times they've saved me a ticket. A couple of times in the Viper that would have landed me in jail. If you're going to play, you have to be willing to pay. That said, it only seems obvious to use the tools available to tilt the odds a bit more in your favor.
