Hello. I've got about 1" of play in my shifter when shifting up. Is that normal?

Hello Kevin and welcome from Virginia. I just measured mine on a 2014 R3T and have just under 1" of play, it has 54K miles on it and I have never adjusted the shifter since new. I did notice that I have some rubber spacers that need to be replaced though.

Thanks. I've noticed that my rubber spacers are shot.

for what it is worth.
i have the floor boards and just a tiny bit of free play
i do not seem to have rubber spacers.

Kevin, welcome from Maine, Captain My shifter moves around an inch when shifting, , there is no free play in my shifter, just the normal movements from gear to gear, which seems to be quite long. I was wondering if shortening the connecting rod would shorten the shift length. Then maybe the shorter length might leave the shifter too far away from the foot. Dont know.
