Pavement Ahoy!!!!
Rode home yesterday on two miles of fresh black-top!
Our little road is smooth as a baby's butt. 8" base of compacted gravel and two layers of asphalt. I think they are trying to make it stand up to the log trucks that tear all the back roads around here. Most of the roads around my house are patches on top of patches with holes in between.
Big bike washing party planned for this weekend for me and all the other "Dusty Wheels". [That would be me, my Sister and Brother-in-law, and my friends Wout and Amy. We all live on this same road.]
I still have an 1/8 mile of gravel driveway to transverse, but I won't get too dirty as long as I take it slow.

I hope that you didn't get any road tar on the beast, it can be difficult at best to get off.
