I hate gettin beat with a Rocket problem but this one has me puzzled. Got fault code 0705 gear position sensor circuit malfuction ,so I replaced the little bastard and cleared the code with tune ECU. Went out for a blast and the code is back, I checked out the wiring to the ECU ,No shorts ,got continuity so no breaks, got neutral light and it works perfectly.I don't want to take it to my stealer but I'm out of ideas so I thought I'd ask you R3 techs if you've any clue what may be the cause. if u r using tune ecu. is there a gear sel to tell u what gear it is in?
u might want to try(be careful) to start in gear with stand down to see if it is shorted to ground.

in my old book it has a page on p0705 how to check page 11.95

I do not think Tune ECU does that or I could not find it. Haven't linked up though. Tune Boy Dash (old school) does. Other than that I would ask did you get the spring and contact in or did Triumph change the part? And did you verify your Gear position indicator shaft is rotating? Does the neutral light go out? If so you just might have to loosen the bolts and wiggle it a bit to help line things up. (holes are oversized and it might not be making contact)

Ta for the responces .Won''t start in gear with the stand down, I fitted the parts myself and the neutral light goes out ok.Wiggled it till I had to lie down for a rest ,still gettin code. The bike seems to run Ok but lots of banging through the pipes on the over run,I'll mess around somemore tomorrow an see what I come up with.

Thanks Barbagris,I thought about this but I've only got the ATRE version don't know if I can use this. I see there is a bypass mode in the menu I wonder if it makes the unit into just a normal gear indicator?

Yes it does - it's how I run mine. I wanted the bigger numbers - but using the ATRE function is a HUGE (imo) error on an R3. There are better ways to do things.

Had not realized you have a GiPro - TAKE IT OFF AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS!.

The thing is that the ATRE version interupts the GPS signal that is sent onwards to the ECU. The ATRE allows you to trick the ECU. All it takes a a poor contact.
The DS version sees what the ECU says it does.
