Just purchased a blue 2009 R3T. 1400 miles. All I can say is AWESOME, I LOVE IT! I have a 01 Harley Ultra Classic and what a difference! I Live in North Carolina and can't wait to get her into the mountains. She has a Jardine exhaust system but no other mods.

I have quite a bit of decel popping and some surging at lower speeds, any recommendations? Should I go with the Power Commander V and K&N air filter? or just remap. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

welcome from tn
what part of nc u live in
they will be some one here to help u out with your problem

Congratulations and welcome to the site.

The surging might be due to the throttle bodies out of balance. You can buy a $20 cable and download the free TuneECU program and take a look.

Also, (in addition to Tdraggers option)
There is the Dobeck EFI controller.
Way cheaper than the PC V and no cable to keep up with or cd.
Just plug and play.
If on the other hand it already has an updated Triumph tune in it,
all you may need is to do a 12 minute tune on it.
Congratulations and Welcome to the forum from Oklahoma.
Hope to meet you at the next RAA.

G'day and welcome to the site. Congratulations on your purchase; you're going to love it more and more each day.

Not everyone likes the Dobeck but I have one (as a alternative to a PCIII/V) and it suits me fine. I've done exhaust and filters, removed secondaries and fitted a GiPro. The Dobeck got rid of the popping, smoothed it out at all speeds and makes it go like stink. The beauty is I can adjust it on the go with just a screw driver - sort of like the old carby adjusting days. With minor tweeks here and there I reckon I've got it running about as well as it can go and I have reasonable fuel consumption. You can of course start to remap and fiddle with tunes if you're so inclined, and perhaps squeeze a bit more out (or **** it up completely) but that doesn't suit me. I haven't had it dyno'd because I don't need to and besides, I'm not particularly concerned about the specific number anyway.

Welcome to the site ...

It might be a good idea to find a good Triumph dealer and have it gone through just for piece of mind because it's used and you don't know what's been twisted on. Since you aren't familiar with it yet, they can check out the plugs, wires, TPS, etc. just to make sure it's all good to start with. It's never any fun to dive into a problem on a vehicle you aren't up to speed on yet, going that route can cause more problems.

Enjoy.

welcome from shropshire uk. I have the r3t and i fitted the pcv and auto tune . Very very happy and worth the money as im not to good with computers and such .but once you have sorted your running problems out the gipro is the best thing you can put on your rocket. It will transform your tourer. Regards hooky.
