quick hello from minnesota. just picked up my third rocket.this one is a 2005, red,with summer screen,leather bags,backrest and rack. only has 5900 miles on it. drained some suspicious, black substance from the engine and replaced with some nice fresh mobil1 full syn. hoping that the vibration that comes on @ 3000 and kind of hangs on all the way up isnt due to last owner using cheap oil! my other ones had a slight vibe that came on @ 3000 but did not linger past 31 or 3200. any ideas? taking it in this wk for sync of tb's and have a recall done on the fuel injection. other bike is a 2004 aprilia tuono with lots of go fast goodies and sticky tires. have owned a number of different brands of fast bikes,but i gotta have a rocket! looking forward to accessing the forum. peace, Moses

Welcome from Afghanistan, I feel your pain, I hope he didn't shortchange the quality of oil to save a couple of bucks. Hopefully the new oil will make you one with your machine.

just got the new to me 05 rocket back from the shop with a clean bill of health. apparently the vibration and noise is inherent in the earilier models. my 2 others were 07s and were much quieter and smoother. will be doing the exhaust and intake mods right away. leaning towards the jardine,any opinions? oh ya, most likely going for the trans upgrade this winter as well. thanks for the welcome!! moses
