I know neutral can be tricky to locate. My new Classic is trickier than my previous Rocket. In fact I often don't bother unless I'm parking up.

But sometimes I manage to select neutral and the green indicator light doesn't illuminate. Not often, just occasionally. It's not a comfortable feeling easing out the clutch uncertain as to whether I'm in gear or not.

The bike's under warranty, but does anyone know if this is likely to be a simple fix or an engine strip down?

shouldn't be a major one, most probably a loose connection at neutral sw/lamp or faulty neutral switch, either way a minor job

Thanks Ram. I had a word with my dealer who said he'd not come across the problem before. Apart from the suggestion for adjusting it he said just about the same as you. He's asked me to bring it in sometime and he'll check it out and get the new part ordered in.

Thanks for the confirmation - nice to have experienced backup when talking to the mechanics. I'm lucky in that my local dealer is always happy to help and they don't even have an issue with me using my TuneBoy either.

Cheers - Z
