MV Brutale 800 announced

I think it's a sexy machine

Sounds to me like you are referring to owners of the vehicles in question, not the vehicles themselves. Your opinion of those owners has little bearing on the machinery itself.

Were I the owner of an European exotic I would care less what anyone thought of me. Much like I don't give a rat's ass what others think of those who ride motorcycles.

Don't mean to offend anyone just the way my twisted mind thinks everyone is allowed to have a preference. Mine would be an unrestored mid 50's Chevy Apache.

Comparing a Speed Triple to the MV is like comparing a Corvette to a Porsche or a Ferrari. The Corvette may have all the performance numbers to match or beat the other two, but in the end its still a Chevrolet.

Harry i honestly wouldn't know which was the better car .... Corvette or a Porsche ... do know that Ferraris are worth a small fortune. I know sweet f#ck all about cars, which is obvious whenever i try and bluff and pretend i have some knowledge when there are old cars on show somewhere . I suggested a Speedy be a better choice for Mitch for much the same reason i said my bit about prices and availability of Guzzi parts. MV may be an excellent bike , i don't really know but i'd bet parts are expensive and all stored in Italy ( it's where they are made isn't it )

Yeah, its not always about better, but which is the better tool for the job. I had a Corvette and sold it and bought a Viper. Corvette was a much better road car, all the bells and whistles. The Viper was a far superior track car. Rarely challenged on the street and never beaten. I was once challenged by a Honda sport bike early one Sunday morning on the freeway. He got the jump on me but when I passed him at around 145-150 MPH he was done. But neither was anywhere close to the Euro exotics when it comes to craftsmanship.

Motorcyclist just had a comparison between the Triumph 675R and the new MV F3 triple. While all agreed the MV was a beautiful machine and exquisitely put together, for all practical purposes the Triumph trounced it. Same most likely holds true for the Brutale and the Speedy. A bike to ride a bit and admire a lot, the Brutale is the hands down winner. A bike to ride everyday, no contest, the Speedy.
