Short but heavy mate, yeah it does feel very small, lager tank would help, feels like your on it as opposed to in it!
 
I like the bike but I need luggage space. This bike is one you take on short rides on the weekends, back and forth to work and then go back home.

Even with the optional bags Triumph offers they aren't big enough. Been going to RAAs and need my junk to stay gone from home 5 or so days. On the new Roadster there isn't even much room to strap luggage down. I'm 49 years old, had sportbikes years ago, and my Roadster without saddle bags. I don't like bags so don't get me wrong but found out as I get older I need my junk...lol
 
I agree with your disappointments in the mechanicals @leatal. If my KTM 1190 is anything to go by, Rider Modes and TC are not just gimmicks so IMO they could have easily given this R3 200+ HP in Sport Mode and (IMO) retained some of the In Yer Face attitude of the original.
I wonder what that reviewer meant when he said the bike works better if you keep the RPMs up.

I also don't understand a 6 speed just to end up at the same cruising RPM.

This instrument panel on what is priced as a premium motorcycle does kind of underwhelm when compared to what's on a 1290 KTM or even the Indian FTR.

Will this bike require premium fuel?

Yeah, yeah, I know I come across as a Negative Ned since I've already said I don't care for the styling either, but I have to admit I just don't "get" what Triumph is trying to do here. Maybe I'm just not the customer they have in mind.

I'm going to have to keep an eye out for when or if Triumph has a demo truck within a few hundred miles of me.
