You need to keep in mind that America has a much better road system than Australia.
For my 900+ in -10 hours I had to ride at around the 125 to 130 mark as often as I could.
Every small town you pass thru takes about 5 Ks off your possible hours distance.
The bigger the town/ small city, the more that distance is.
Every 15 minute stop for fuel/food is a potential 30 Ks of open road.

Melbourne to Adelaide looks easy on a map but count how many towns there are along that route. It's easily achievable but not an easy task.

As you'd know. It's not Freeway from state to state going that way across the country.

I found in the days before speed cameras travelling out the Cunningham hwy then down the Newell to get to Bathurst with only 3 or 4 bikes . If you cruise on 140 to 150k were you can you only average 100kph over the whole day. The faster you ride the longer your rest breaks are. Any more than 4 bikes its gunna take all day.

I roadtrain,Perth to Port Augusta return,twice weekly in a 2 up situation.Thats 9600+ km[4800 of me @ the wheel] in five and a half day total. Legally, because i have a BFM,i can solo for 14hrs straight if [ i'm stupid enough] or km equivalent =1300km+. With WA rules i can work a 17 hr day. The most i do on my rocket however is about 200- 400km over the weekend,i kinda like to take it easy on my meagre time away from work.My ass is like my ex mother-in-law,numb,lifeless and devoid of any feeling

When my daughter had my first granddaughter, I rode from my place in Fort White Fl. to Fort Wayne Indiana. in 17 hours stopping only to fuel up. 976 miles/ 1571 kilometers. Yes it was a little uncomfortable, my right wrist hurt the most. That's why I insist on having cruise control now. Rademis
