Homemade Bypass

Anybody ever tried to make their own cat by-pass? I have access to a pipe bender and a wire welder. The price of that pipe seems a little excessive for what it is.

Then again, maybe I'm just a tight ass!

In the first few months of the T-rat forum there was at least one guy that fabricated his own by-pass with the help of a local muffler shop. It will be a bit tricky to get the angles and joint locations right... but when the exhaust is loosened up at all mounting spots there is a little play there and you should be able to get it all clamped together.

Local muffler shop

I went to a local muffler shop and they said that they can make one with no trouble and it would be cheap. I never followed up on it because I am still trying to figure out what a non-v-twin should sound like. Without the mufflers the rocket sounds like a Subaru.
Maybe if I remove the middle cylinder...

At least it didn't sound like a VRod... I heard one of those the other day and it just kinda sounded sick . Maybe it was......

Wilbur... I hear ya bro I mean I don't hear ya bro... I don't know what I mean....

I think we have a few knuckle busters on here.... All I know is "I hate cars!"

Looks like someone in the UK is making their own bypass kits. Not much of a savings for those of us outside the UK though.
