Hi all, now I know there is a lot of info about TuneECU on here but I am thinking it must be my computer and it's format to open attachments. HanSo sent me a file last night and for the life of me, I can not open it (I can be computer illiterate at times). HanSo sent it as a .hex file and my computer tries to open it in Acrobat reader??? I don't know how to change this.
On a plus note, I've balanced the throttle bodies so they are 630 x10 hPa (fluctuates by 10).

TIA

You need the proper cable that plugs from your laptop to your bike. When you plug the cable into the laptop for the first time, make sure you have an internet connection, so if it prompts you to download the software, do so.

The .hex file is your new TUNE. Copy the attachment to a file or the desk top in your PC
With TuneECU connected to bike
go to: Files/open map highlight the saved .hex file and hit enter
go to: Save map and wait
When, done start the bike.

Maybe simpler explanation, you don't really ever open the .hex file. It is a format that the Tune ECU program uses. You are simply moving the .hex file from your mail from HanSo to the Tune ECU program on your computer. Then you install it in the bike using the software program which is Tune ECU.

Thank you Rocket3Pilot and 1K9. I will give this a try in the morning. I am hoping it is something as simple as this!

Wow...... So simple. Now I want to go fire the bike up but it is 0030hrs here! Look forward to the morning. Thank you to everyone; I can rebuild anything but put a computer in front of me, I'm hobbled

Same here. I fried 1 ecu[still don't know what happened] bought another off ebay. I was successful with that one. Needing to get another tune but also need to do intake. Its just getting faster.

Hi This may help. Make sure you save the hex file to another folder (named appropriately) dont double click on it in the email program. Windows may have assigned the hex file to another program, Open Tune ECU and clip on "open map file" Find your folder, find the file and click open, should open the file then.

Oddly the other day I was saving a file off the net for someone with a bike attached and couldnt find the file. Had to disconnect, shut down the Tune ECU and restart, then the folder and file appeared.

Sometimes they are troublesome, computers that is

Hi Muff,
I did exactly what you're trying to do for the first time last weekend. What the guys are saying above is exactly what I did and as they say hex format is just the ECU's language.

I also balanced the throttle bodies. When I checked them there was a range of 90hPa and it should be 10hPa. What with Hanso's new map and the balanced bodies it's even more of a Rocket. No let up in pulling power till 120. Eased off after that and changed into 5th!
