Thank you all

Thanks very much for the comments - I have been tied up on work related stuff and travel - and I pray that I can pick up my ride this weekend......then I can actually accept ya'lls offers to ride and get together!

OH ..... MY ..... GOD!

I went to the dealer in St Pete Saturday to pick up my motorcycle - they had a just received a Rocket III Touring. I could not take my eyes off of her. After a total of 5 minutes I bought the touring instead.

Previous to Saturday I had read the critical comments here and elsewhere. I understand that the horsepower is less. Yes I like the looks of the larger tire better. Yes the twin headlights look better than a single.

All that said the Touring just looked better overall to me - and had the benefit of hardbags, footboards, heel-toe shifting, a gas gauge with a dist-to-empty trip calc, yet enough of the Rocket persona. I rode both around the parking lot - and the smaller back tire did make a noticeable difference to me in slow tight turns.

So I took an impulse plunge and bought the touring. It started raining so we trailered her home.

Yesterday I took her for a short ride - 50 miles - :D

WOW - the power just does not end - you are at 60 mph as fast as you can blink - and in first gear if you want! (Does anyone know how fast one can go in first?) I never got the chance to go past third gear yesterday. And the power.....

The power is incredible. Lots of riders in Cent Fla seem to take Sunday as a riding day - and the gawks from other riders were continuous. In my neighborhood several HD riders came over uninvited to see her (the coconut telegraph is alive and well it seems). And the power - did I forget to mention the power? Oh - my - God.....!

I took some pictures and will post once I learn how to do it...
The power, too bad the pictures will not show the power.... :)

Well - gotta get back to work....

welcome, and your not the youngest!! despite my grey hair I'm not even close to 40 ( my story sticking to it)

I might be coming to daytona last weekend in Febuary, sure there will be plenty of rockets wantign to hang out with you especially since you have a Touring model now...

Congratulations on getting the new tourer. I'm not much of a fan of the styling direction BUT it does have the engine, good color and your riding, that is what counts. Welcome to the club.

I just uploaded some photos - not so difficult after all [once I read the instructions]....

Back to the grind.... gotta earn for the accessories....

All right

Congrates!! on your new toy. Now we have someone to talk to about the new tourier rather than everyone throwing out unfounded speculation. To each there own and to own there each I say. :p
