Hello everyone from Florida!

Thank you!! next time it happens I will definitely let you know!!

Welcome from Minden, NV. My contribution is to check your battery connections and / or upgrade the cables like Boog said. Decose is the electric resident guru here so listen to his advice. I want his keyless ignition some day.

Hi Ricky. Before you go too crazy, I have 2008 R3T. No issues until now but now have funny starting issues. I have just spent a full weekend troubleshooting as the bike would not start. Firstly, the ONLY relay on the RIGHT side of the bike, behind the cover, is the start relay, it provides power to the headlamp and when the start button is pressed supplies the 12v start to the starter solenoid. You can get this relay from any automotive parts supplier. I checked the whole electrical system, switches, relays, battery and cables and still only a "click" when trying to start the bike. I removed the starter motor and solenoid from the bike stripped them and checked them out on a bench...they worked perfectly when I run them on the bench. To cut the whole frustrating saga short, the problem was NO earth connection to the solenoid and starter motor. There are 2 cables to the starter motor, a thin one to switch the solenoid (from the start relay) and a fat one from the battery for main power to the starter motor. The earth connection is through the assembly being bolted on to the engine. The bolts were corroded thus the grounding was not good. I clamped a jumper lead cable from the battery ground to the starter motor body and it started up good and strong. When I removed the jumper cable it would not start only a "click". I will clean up the bolts and install a cable from one of the mounting bolts to battery negative terminal.. Hope this helps
