hi guys
i seem to recall someone on here made up a modulator for the headlights, had a youtube video and everything... can't remember what thread or member, tried seachs... no joy.

anyone know who/where to go for this modulator?

thanks

I know the post you are referring to; but the only issue I had with what he fabricated was that it turned the headlights on and off and back on again; which is illegal at least here in the United States. A modulating headlight IS LEGAL here though; since it only reduces power from 100 to 30 percent, and then back to full power.

Kisan makes headlight modulators; I have a Kisan unit installed in my Rocket's headlamps. They are "plug -n- play" and are easy to install. I HIGHLY recommend headlight modulators; they'll save your ass from those whom violate your right of way; claiming (in most cases accurately) that they simply didn't see you. They'll see that modulating headlight(s) though.

Here is a link to Kisan:

These are the ones that you want for a twin headlighted Rocket (it's what I've installed):

There are other headlight modulator vendors out there as well, but Kisan is the simplest and IMHO the best.

thats the kitty will thanks a mil. must investigate and see are these still plug n play with a HID conversion, and the fog lights too

HID lights I doubt can be modulated. They do not work the same way and it could (I'd put the probability near 90% through experience with an "intelligent" lights sensor) knacker the igniter boxes.

In the EU - Headlight modulators CAN get you nicked. if you want to be seen during the day - Fit bright DRL's. These have a MUCH wider angle of vision - and if you want to glimmer there are some low power DRL shimmering devices. http://www.smidsy.biz/PodModReDirect.php - I have it good authority they're working on a high power LED DRL SHIMMER device.

Head/fog lights do NOT project light where you most need it imo - i.e to the sides.

my lights need to be adjusted i think, i can see the ditch beside me like its daytime but the road up ahead is a distant second (-:

Well that's certainly not helping. The R3 lens/reflectors are pretty cruddy though. They give a bright "close in" pool of light and a long range glow on Dip Beam. Putting brighter bulbs in just makes the difference more obvious ime.

You have PM - Forget HID with modulators. HID exciters need certain electrical conditions to work properly - Modulators remove these conditions. Even soft-start lighting controllers are a PITA ime.
