In case you didn't know, Gus has been in intensive care at Immanuel in Omaha, NE for a few weeks now. I guess he's there due to complications from pneumonia and will probably be there for a while yet. Please keep the man in your thoughts and prayers.

I am going to slip by there tomorrow and see how he's doing.
 
I've never had the honor of meeting Gus but his name is well respected around here. Thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery to him.
 
update

I saw Gus @ Immanuel in Omaha, NE on Monday afternoon. He's finally doing better. He is recovering from Empyema. The nurse told me that the machines and drugs were what kept him going, it was very bleek for a while.

I believe he went in towards the end of June and it doesn't sound like he will be out of ICU for some time yet, then off to some recovery center.

When I got there he was trying to sit up on the edge of the bed and it was ALL he could do to sit up straight. He is very weak, but with that the nurses were happy with his progress.

He has a long way to go but he is on the road to recovery. He is in room 453. If you are planning to hit Baxter's rally next weekend and could stop by Omaha for a little bit that would be helpful.

He went back to work last fall. I haven't talked to him, just heard 2nd hand. Randy Baxter said at one point Gus had one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.
