Hello folks,
Bill from east central NC here. Been getting all hot and bothered about a Rocket for several years(wife says more like obsessed). Finally managed to grouch, whine, drool, research and snivel enough that the wife finally said: " IF IT WILL JUST MAKE YOU SHUT THE F&&K UP AND BE HAPPY GO AND TRADE THE F&&ING HARLEY!!!!!!!!!!"

Don't ya love it when a plan comes together?

I have owned a lot of bikes over the years and put a ton of miles on the ground. Brand J off all descriptions, Harleys, BMWs, Guzzi, and one Ducati. Liked them all, loved a lot of them.

After putting a few thousand miles on the Rocket I am convinced that it is, hands down, the finest piece of machinery that has ever had two wheels hung on it.

It is so much fun to ride, it is like the feeling ya had when you were a kid and got your very first motorcycle.

Probably won't see me post much, been a lurker since way back in the Usenet days of rec.motorcycles but there is a lot of good info here that I appreciate and make use of.

Keep them between the ditches,
Bill

Welcome Bill from one of the Aussies .. sound like you'll get along well here. Take good care of that wife of yours , she sounds like a real gem mate.

It's good you've owned so many other bikes to help make the Rocket stand out. Welcome to the site and hope we hear from you from time to time. Your wife's a gem. Most of us (well, plenty of us) have very understanding spouses.

Hey Bill - Where in NC are you and what Rocket are you riding? Love the mountains of western NC. Did some time at Fort Bragg back in the day. Beaches and Outer Banks are spectacular.

Yep, she has her moments like we all do but she ain't too bad at all. When I first met her 13-14 year ago, she was dirt drag racing a Sportster up around Winchester VA. Saddle bags full of barbell weights and a big honking knobby on the back.

Turned it into an 88" stroker for her for Christmas one year. Seen her make full grown men on Titan's and Big Dogs look pure stupid with that set up. ;) She is rolling a 96" heritage softy now a days, and, she ain't but 5 foot tall.

Little chicks on big bikes are smoking hot.

BTW TOMCAT, if your family has been in Oz for more than a couple of generations, we are probably related. I got more kin on mums side running around down there than you can shake a stick at.

Up north of Raleigh in Bunn Bob. It is a beautiful state still, just getting a little too crowded lately. The outer banks is just a mob scene up around Nags Head nowadays.
