What are options to not spend a ton of money? Slip ons which are loudest? must you remap? is doing the airbox at the same time worth it?

Jardine pipes( you get decent header design included) triple K&N filters & a retune is an EASY way of turning a~115hp sewing machine into a 155hp brute( sounds loud!) with good TQ too.
It's the kinda mod ( one pipe or another of course) that most owners, who upgrade,do first.( Before engine mods)

Suspect, what model Rocket are you working with?

If Standard or Classic, then D&Ds are your lowest cost option. Jardines, while more expensive, are VERY loud with the benefit of some increase in power. The Triumph cat-bypass and TORs (Triumph Off-Road exhaust) are also loud but not my favorite sound. Staintunes are not as loud but have a great sound to them. Unfortunately, they are somewhat expensive. Other custom options are very expensive.

I can't comment on the Roadster and Touring models.
